If you love golf OR are a foodie OR are a bit of both, then you will want to check out The Birdie restaurant at Iberostar's recently-renovated Aruba resort, Tierra Del Sol.

Iberostar purchased the entire Tierra del Sol property back in 2023, and when I visited its reimagined dining facilities recently, the entire property was glistening.
PLEASE NOTE: Tierra Del Sol is a gated community, and you will need to check in with security at the entrance. Let them know you have a reservation at or are visiting The Birdie, and you should not have a problem.
After a short, winding drive up a desert-scaped hill, you arrive at a palatial, hacienda-style main building adorned with elegantly tall and skinny palm trees.

The Birdie restaurant itself is down a long, marble-lined corridor and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
While the Birdie offers both indoor and outdoor seating, I highly recommend requesting a table outside along the fancy plate glass adjoining the golf course, where you will feel like golf royalty.
From that vantage point, I sat mesmerized by the 90 degree views from Arashi Beach to the California Lighthouse to the rugged north coast of Westpunt Beach and beyond.

The Birdie's service is friendly and attentive, and its menu ranges from raw bar to sushi to steak similar to Akira Back at the St. Regis. Like the St. Regis, prices are definitely on the higher side when compared to other establishments on the island.
I recommend starting with the seafood bisque ($19), a delicious, thick blend featuring fresh fish, shrimp, mussels, calamari & Pernod.

The creamy broth itself was divine, and I was continously delighted when I encountered large, generous helpings of fish and shellfish in the soup.
For her entrée, my friend had the beef short rib ($45), slow cooked served with creamy polenta, broccolini, chicharron, and crispy onions.

I first noticed that the portion size was MASSIVE; you could not even see the short rib under the piles of its adornments.
When I found the meat itself, its succulent flavor and melt-in-your-mouth quality paired perfectly with the creamy polenta and crunchy chicarron and onion.
For my main course, I ordered the pan-fried halibut with mushroom, asparagus, parsnip creme, and lemon beurre blanc for $43.

The actual piece of fish was lovely; however, the dish lacked flavor.
Despite the bland fish course, I wouldn't trade anything for watching the sun set over my favorite Caribbean island as I savored the final bites of my meal.
For THE BEST seafood, I recommend Wilhemina as the best fancy fish restaurant on the island and Zeerovers for casual dining (you can check out more of my favorite places in Aruba here).
