Social Musings by Austin celebrated its 2 year anniversary on February 21!
When I left my finance career to become a Creator, I knew that I wanted to pursue my childhood passions in music, literature and media, a journey I discussed in my blog post "Why I Quit My Job to Join the Creator Economy."
As I contemplate my life since leaving the traditional working world, I am grateful for the opportunity to live an authentic life that is uniquely me, and I am excited that others have taken notice.
Last year, I was profiled in Texas Monthly magazine and by my alma mater in the University of Texas McCombs School of Business Alumni News.
In December, I published my most extensive work of fiction yet, “Trey’s Tale”, receiving an honorable mention already in one creative writing competition (with hopefully more accolades to follow).
I am excited about where my music is headed with two new BMI-registered singles: “Mainframe” and “Staring at the Nightlight” and more to come imminently.
In addition, tens of thousands of readers globally have visited the Social Musings by Austin website, and many of you have subscribed to the Social Musings by Austin podcast on Apple Podcasts.
My goal is to entertain, inspire and help you achieve more fulfillment in your life through my original stories, songs and podcast, and my most popular story remains my deeply personal non-fiction story on mental health titled "The Story of the Denim Jacket."
I am kicking off my third year of Social Musings by Austin with a musical showcase coming up on March 9th at XSPACE Austin.
The event features some of the best of Austin's local music and fashion scene and will be held at XSPACE's location in Austin overlooking Lake Travis.
